Friendship bracelets

Last weekend Nick and I had an entire night to ourselves.  This happens VERY rarely. Some friends of ours insisted on watching our 4 monkeys for us AND driving us to and from our destination so we could enjoy a glass of wine bottle of wine together. We went to a lovely place called Frog Hollow. I suggest you look them up if you are ever in Augusta. It's very much an adult restaurant, but a beautiful place and food that will make you salivate just looking at the menu. Our sweet server was phenomenal, which made our experience that much better.

I really wanted to thank them with more than a hug, so I made them a homemade meal of spaghetti bolognese, arugula salad, and a peach blueberry cobbler that everyone had seconds of, so I assume it was alright. The kids had already made them cards thanking them for "the best night of their lives," but wanted to make some friendship bracelets. Haylie discovered the embroidery floss I brought with me to work in Gavin's quiet book.

Kaileb picked up the technique fairly quickly. The best part is, this simple activity kept them busy for, wait for it, HOURS!  They delivered their gifts at dinner, and the dinner guests seemed to love the gesture.  I love when my kids create things for others.

I'll probably post a tutorial for these simple friendship bracelets next week.
