It rained the entire weekend here in Augusta, but Saturday morning we were fortunate to get a block of cloudy, yet dry, weather. We headed downtown to the Farmers Market and got to talk with some of the local farmers here in the area. It wasn't a substantial market like the one back home in Portland, but there were a few organic stands and we thoroughly enjoyed a nice stroll by the river.
We picked up some beautiful farm fresh eggs, some organic peaches, a bundle of mixed kale, some green onions of a variety I haven't tried, some blueberries, green beans, and a pepper for a chili I'm making this week.
I used the green onions and kale in some rice we had for dinner Sunday night. Kale rice is one of the kids favorite ways to eat rice, and about the only way Kaileb will eat it. That's OK with me!
We love Farmers Markets! Thanks for stopping by Harrington Harmonies for my giveaway today! You might also like my nature notebook site which has tons of gardening stuff too:)
