A first baby dress

For my birthday this year, Nick's mom got me a sewing machine.  Unfortunately, I had no idea how to use it! Luckily she came for a visit a few days after my birthday and showed me what to do.  She helped me make a skirt for Haylie and read a pattern and now I get the gist of how things work.  I know I still have much to learn, but I have no goal to become a master, just to make things for my family!  This is the first dress I sewed for Ava.  I will say I was  nervous about the whole sleeve thing, but I carefully followed the instructions and it turned out fine.  I've learned more for the next project I'm undertaking which is a dress for Haylie. With summer temperatures here in Virginia, I was happy to create a dress my girl could wear that I put my love into.
