Bumkins Waterproof Bib Review

Messy eater!

After eating spaghetti, she's still clean!

You can see the moisture repelling a bit in the photo above.

Velcro and pockets make this bib so great!

If your sweet monkeys are anything like mine, they know how to make a mess! With two toddlers, sometimes making the meal takes less time than the clean-up. When I made the switch to homemade laundry soap I did notice that some stains weren't coming out. They didn't all before, but now I needed to go into prevent mode instead of assuming our stains would come out in the wash. I searched around for some well priced bibs that would cover my little ones entire front. When I came across the bibs from Bumkins, it was such a good deal I had to give them a shot.  Each bib was $9.95. I ordered Gavin the Mickey Mouse bib to entice him to wear it. It's hard to believe a little boy can have so much spirit for a mouse. A few of the ones I liked were out of stock and I settled on the Dandelion pattern for Ava.

There are a few things I LOVE about these bibs. First, they have sleeves that are very easy to have little ones put their arms through. This is really nice because food can't get around the side while they are shoveling it in their mouths as quickly as possible. I feed them, I swear. Secondly, they have pockets in the bottom so all the food that doesn't make it in ends up in the pocket instead of on the highchair, floor, or chairs that take 1,000,000,000,546 hours to scrub. The Velcro in the back is also really great. I abhor bibs with buttons. It's just so silly.

The bibs are very easy to maintain. When I'm done cleaning their hands and faces, I just undo the Velcro, bring it right over to the sink, and wipe it down. If it's been a couple of days I put them right into the washer and they wash wonderfully. I don't dry them, the care instructions say not to. Even if it was OK though, they dry on the line in the laundry room in about 15 minutes so even if I forget until I'm dishing everyone up, it's really no big deal!

The only downside I've found with the Bumkin bibs after consistent use over the past few weeks is that they aren't completely waterproof. It's fair to say that Ava may dump an entire cup of water down her front side so there isn't really anywhere for the water to go.

Even though the bibs aren't completely waterproof, these are the ones I'll be using in the future for our upcoming bundle. I'll be ordering a couple more so I'm not constantly washing these ones!

Note: I am not affiliated with this company. The views and thoughts in the Bumkins bib review are my own. I purchased these bibs with my own money and was provided no compensation.

Do you have a favorite bib or tip to prevent huge messes at the table

  1. Hi, I have messy eaters too. I will for sure be trying these bibs. I use a all green and natural laundry soap that gets stains out and is not expensive like most. Andrew (my brother) owns the company and makes the soap. Check out the site. Www.andthencamethis.com
