Morning homemade play dough fun

I like to get things done in the morning. Breakfast dishes, picking up toys, and sweeping the floor.  If you have little ones, you know that this process can take MUCH longer if they aren't napping or otherwise occupied.  This is where play dough comes in.  I think there is a common misconception that this salty concoction is only for tiny hands, but you'll find that once someone sees how much fun it is, they'll want in too.

These are all things I have in the kitchen, easy access. The older kiddos loved the garlic press! Tiny Tyke's favorite was the beater.  He liked having to work to get it out of the dough. We also used some plastic cookie cutters.

After realizing how much fun Tiny Tyke was having, everyone wanted in.

They even requested to play with it later in the day!

I put Tiny Tyke in his highchair and he played for a good half hour before throwing his utensils on the floor boredom set in. This gave me time to take pictures get a few things done.

We have so many great different colors of store bought play-doh but the kids never want anything to do with it.   I made this for Tiny Tyke so if he sticks it in his mouth I don't have to worry.  Here is a link to the recipe. Best play dough recipe
