Kindergarten Fireman study

Tornado K is in the middle of a community study right now. We are finishing up Fireman!  It's been really fun. We used some printables from Homeschool Creations to create his lapbook.  A few of the things were really aimed for preschool, which was what it was intended for, but we just left those out because he's a Kindergartner now :) They were really great though!

We used the Fireman word cards to match up to the pictures and practice handwriting skills. 

He really liked the find the words, mostly because he got to use his highlighter!

We did some shadow matching. I was surprised that this was a little challenging for him! He figured it out after some thinking though!

We also checked out quite a few books from the library.  All of the children's fiction books were checked out so we made do with the non-fiction children's books about firetrucks and a day in the life of a fireman.  I can't remember the titles exactly! We plan to take a trip later in the week to the fire station.  We've had a ton of freakish snow lately. The cold and I don't get along too well so we are waiting for a nicer day here!
