A little detour

On our way to the National Park the other day Nick spotted a cannon in a big open field.  We decided to stop and check it out.  We had stumbled on a lovely park with trails and some beautiful bird watching.

It was a really nice detour along the way.  The beauty in living in the present is that sometimes the best memories sneak up on me.  Have you ever taken a back road or a wrong turn that turned out to be an even better adventure than the one you had planned?
