Curriculum Anxiety

Lately, I've had some serious anxiety over our choices in curriculum.  I should start by saying there are some I absolutely love that we are using. Sonlight Core B, for example, is phenomenal.  I love the way my kids are engaged in whatever we are talking about for the day.  I think Sonlight is wonderful for a newer homeschooler like me because everything is planned out to the letter.  We have omitted some things like the bible curriculum and use Grapevine Bible instead.  We love the Leading Little Ones to God book provided in the Sonlight bible program, but chose to use Seeds Family Worship CD's in place of the scripture memorization CD included.  The Language Arts program seems a little all over the place, but I love the readers so we've stuck with it.  I'll be looking into something else when we finish though. Maybe Rod and Staff, IEW, Writeshop. <- This is where the anxiety begins.

Then, I was feeling worried about our science choice.  We started Apologia Flying Creatures and the first few times we read, the kids were begging me to stop!  I am not interested in spending a bazillion dollars on other science programs out there. It's just not going to happen.  It was way too much information for my Kindergartner at the time. This summer though, we've opened it up quite a few times and the kids have really been interested in what we are reading.  My fear is that if I stick with Apologia, they wouldn't be getting any Chemistry or Physics basics.  I started to look into Answers in Genesis, which seems fantastic,  but yesterday saw that Apologia is coming out with an Elementary Chemistry and Physics book! I do wish these would have been divided into 2 years but maybe I'll just do that on my own.

Here is where I wanted to bang my head into the wall.  Instead of praying about what we should be using, or letting the stress go (because my God is so awesome and always handles these things), I just started to freak out. If faith can move mountains, it can sure lead me to pick the right curriculum. So, I'll be praying about it until He gives me an answer.
